The Whale House is easy access off Tow Hill Rd with convenient parking. It’s a short hop, skip and a mossy path to the beach. In Spring you will sleep to the sound of frogs crying out for love. It has a queensize bed, a fold out double bed, plus a sleeping loft with a double.

The kitchen is stocked with all the pots, pans, dishes and utensils you could want, and a 2-burner propane cooktop. Drinking water is supplied as are bedding and towels. The Whale House countertop is a stunning 2 metre slab of beachcombed redwood — saved, sanded and polished. The walls are red and yellow cedar, beachcombed and milled on island. A glass fronted wood stove provides romantic light and heat. There’s a woodshed with a splitting maul to feed it. The post and beam porch is the place to be for barbecuing on rainy days. It has propane lights, solar lamps, cold running water, cooler for refrigeration (bring ice), a carved whale, an outhouse with a sink and running water, and a hot on-demand shower ’round the back. As it is at our entrance it can have road noise.
